Small Fat Chili, Ready to be Picked!

At home, my family and I have a little garden, and one of the plants that we grow there is a green chili plant. Today, when my dad and my little sister, Aarna, went to see if any chilies were ripe in the garden, they spotted a small fat chili, ready to be picked! Usually, the chilies that our plant produces are long and skinny. My dad and my sister plucked the chili and brought it into the house. My mom and I were amazed to see such an odd and abnormal chili! We washed it and used it in our dinner. Even though I was sad to see it go, it did taste pretty good!

Do you have a family garden? If so, what do you grow there?

Have you ever seen an abnormally large fruit or vegetable?

  1. Dear Aashi,

I was so happy to see that you are blogging again! What inspired you?

Your small, fat chili pepper ready to be picked looks pretty good! You asked if I have a garden. We have only grown tomatoes. However, we have not had much luck. One year, we had an entire crop of cherry tomatoes ready to be plucked and eaten. Unfortunately, we heard a noise in the backyard. When we shined a flashlight out into the night, we could see a group of raccoons gathered around our tomatoes...feasting!

Another year, we bought a different variety of tomatoes. This time, a canine culprit got them when they were still green and hard. Maybe you know of this thief? Buck's Bounty

What else do you grow in your family garden?

    1. Dear Mrs. Y♥llis,

I'm glad that I'm blogging again too! I wasn't exactly inspired to make a blogpost. I always wanted to start blogging again, but I somehow missed it. I decided one free Sunday that I'll make a new post on my blog!

Some other plants in my family garden are basil, roses, curry leaves, and bougainvillea.

Tomatoes sounds like a nice plant to grow! I hope that it doesn't seem a little too tasty to some of the wild animals near my home! :D

Why did you choose to grow tomatoes in your garden?

    2. @ A♣shi,

As I said, I am thrilled to see you blogging again! Are any of our other bloggers thinking along the same lines as you?

You asked why we chose to grow tomatoes. First of all, we love tomatoes and eat them sliced or add them to dishes. We are big tomato lovers. Second, they usually are easy to grow. Except for the raccoons and my crazy dog, we would have had a bumper crop! Oh well.

What are some ideas you have for future posts? Let me know if you need any help with editing or finding CC photos for your posts.

      Warmly,
      Mrs. Y♥llis

  2. Aashi,
You're chili pepper looks delicious! I have a garden on the side of my house too. Every spring, my mom, sister and I plant herbs, tomatoes, eggplant, cucumbers and watermelons. Last year, we were picking our vegetables, and my sister uncovered a giant eggplant. It was at long as my mom's arm and so wide that I could not even wrap my hands around it. We used it to make our favorite meal, eggplant parmesan.

I am excited to go home and pick cilantro to make guacamole! Which plant is your favorite to harvest? What do you cook with your fresh food?

    Thanks for sharing,
    Brittany B.
